A fine polymetallic specimen of Linnaeite with Millerite, Chalcopyrite and Galena from the Jungfer mine at Müsen in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Cuboctahedral crystals and granular massive Linnaeite form the core of the specimen; Linnaeite being an exceedingly rare cobalt sulphide. Abundant bundles of acicular Millerite crystals to over 1 cm long are invariably overgrown by metallic grey Galena. Normally, Millerite is one of the most delicate minerals known, yet in this case, due to crystals’ larger diameters and infillings of Galena between and cementing the Millerite, they are robust. Intergrown, complex crystals of brassy metallic Chalcopyrite mostly occupy one face of the specimen. A very fine array of some rare sulphides from Jungfer mine; a miniature accompanied by two old handwritten labels, one from Anton Berger.
