An outstanding specimen of Bisbee Azurite displaying intergrown well-formed bladed crystals measuring to 1.5 cm, often forming composite multiple crystal arrays in parallel growth.  The colour is fantastic; an intense deep azure blue so intense it is tending towards inky-indigo and when back-lit, emits countless zones and bands of rich electric-blue.  Turn the specimen over and you will see a base that is equally enthralling, displaying a mixture of chatoyant velvet-like bright emerald-green Malachite in rich silky acicular sprays to 1 cm long framed by bright pumpkin-orange, brick-red and mustard-yellow concave spherules of Goethite.  A fabulous Azurite with Malachite from one of the USA’s most famous mining districts, Bisbee, Arizona.
