A showy, triangular-shaped cabinet specimen of lustrous acid yellow grading to limey siskin green Pyromorphite crystals measuring to 1.2 cm, from Roughton Gill in the Caldbeck Fells mining district of Cumbria, England. The hexagonal prisms are opaque with translucent outer faces and cover the top surface of a cream and light tan Quartz veinstone matrix. Light passing through the translucent layer and reflecting back from inner surfaces gives some of the crystals an appearance of internal layers of metallic foil. All the Pyromorphite crystals are of about 1 cm long and are mainly thick-set with a bright glassy lustre, making an impressive display surface.
