FLUORITE on DOLOMITE

ID: CC8169
Transparent, pale sky-blue cubic crystals of Fluorite to 1 cm on edge sit on a thin bed of creamy-white Dolomite from the Ullcoats mine near the town of Egremont in west Cumbria.  The Ullcoats-Beckermet-Florence ore body is now world famous for its blue Fluorite and this a good example collected during the 1950’s.  The cubic crystals measure up to 1 cm on edge and are translucent with small gemmy zones.  A most attractive small miniature.
