A nice solid and blocky example of the rare zinc arsenite Leiteite from its type locality at the Tsumeb mine in Namibia. A 1.3 x 2.5 x 0.5 cm tablet-like block of colourless laminar crystals together create silvery, highly lustrous surfaces with a micaceous texture. Leiteite became relatively abundant in Tsumeb when the Zinc Pocket on 44 Level was encountered and this fine ex-matrix large thumbnail specimen is likely from this section of the mine.
