A matrix of heavily iron-stained gossan is pervaded with acicular Quartz crystals and Cuprite, taking the form of both massive clusters and euhedral crystals.  From the Tsumeb mine in Namibia, the Cuprite crystals are developed to 6 mm across and have a metallic high lustre. The crystals are an exquisite wine-red with very good transparency, tending to gemmy.  A great example of well crystallised Cuprite from Tsumeb.
