Andradite Garnet

ID: CC8339
This wonderful specimen is composed entirely of Andradite Garnet, which forms an impressive domed display of superb crystals covering a granular Andradite matrix.  The crystals are quite magnificent, forming a complete intergrown dome of individual rhombic-dodecahedrons with edges to 0.9 cm, of semi-translucent sour gooseberry-green and a simply stunning, brilliant mirror-like metallic lustre.  These completely envelop a matrix of granular glassy light olive-green to opaque yellowish-buff Andradite.  It is a stunning, beautifully crystallised specimen with a lustre that will stop you in your tracks!
