A splendid bi-pyramidal octahedral crystal of golden-butterscotch orange Scheelite measuring 2.3 cm long. This off-matrix specimen, from Hiefelwand in the Grieswies-Krumlkeeskoph area in Salzburg, Austria, is perfectly terminated at one end, with the tip cleaved-off at the opposite end. The two opposing crystal faces on the base (with two attached tiny paper labels) are pitted due to natural etching processes, while the remaining six faces are lustrous with surface crystal growth patterns. Under LWUV the crystal fluoresces feint butterscotch orange, while under SWUV, a ghostly yet distinct, ethereal white. This is accompanied with a previous collector’s card label (folded).
