An intergrown group of opaque, lustrous jet-black Schorl Tourmaline crystals to 2.5 cm from the classic locality of Woolley Farm near Bovey Tracey, north-west of Newton Abbot, Devon. None of the Schorl crystals are complete, but most display many good lustrous prism faces. There is some very minor feldspar attached, plus two 1 to 2 mm creamy Apatite crystals. These specimens were collected a little prior to 1817 when a near-surface pegmatite pocket was discovered on the farm.
