ID: CC8723
A gorgeous large bed of velvety golden chocolate brown Goethite covering a naturally etched plate of milky Quartz forming a sharp and rough hackly surface across the specimen’s base. This magnificent large cabinet specimen is from the historic Príbram mining district of Central Bohemia in the Czech Republic. Botryoidal drusy balls and mounds of the dark chocolate coloured Goethite entirely mask the underlying matrix and on close inspection occurs a delicate acicular crystals whose outer radial sprays turn golden-brown in transmitted light. Dotted over the Goethite are tiny, 1 mm stacked Calcite crystals which show great structure under a low magnification loupe.
