Baryte with Quartz

ID: CC8771
Smoky-grey translucent to semi-transparent blades of Baryte to 1 cm form rich tightly packed clusters across one side of two opaque milky-white Quartz crystals.  From the Ale and Cakes mine at St. Day in the parish of Gwennap, Cornwall, England, the Quartz crystals are steeply terminated and measure 4.3 cm from their base.  A very nice example of Baryte from the St. Day mining district.
