An excellent crystal of dark inky-blue Lazurite measuring 3.6 cm (longest dimension) is attractively perched, and partly embedded, in a block of creamy-white massive Calcite.  This specimen is from the first recorded locality for Lazurite at Sar-e-Sang in the Kokscha Valley, Afghanistan.  The Lazurite crystal is very well formed with sharp edges to the crystal faces and has a slightly silky to matt lustre.  This is a terrific example of well crystallised Lazurite.
