Freieslebenite is an antimony-lead-silver sulphosalt of composition AgPbSbS3 and forms deeply striated, metallic steel-grey crystals to about 5 mm on creamy, light-grey blades of Siderite. Galena, Sphalerite and small Quartz crystals are also present on the specimen. From the historic Himmelsfürst mine at Brand-Erbisdorf in Saxony, Germany, this was the largest producer of silver in the Freiberg District. A few dozen well developed and terminated Freieslebenite crystals are scattered over the specimen; a delightfully rich example of this rare species, complete with a British Museum (Natural History) label.
