ID: CC8949
A fine specimen of intergrown, cuboctahedral Fluorite crystals measuring to 3 cm with later-stage crystals of metallic brassy gold Chalcopyrite developed over the Fluorite. The Fluorite crystals are a gemmy to translucent pastel sea-green with a zone of frosted lilac-pink on some faces. The cuboctahedral crystals are more complex when examined close-to, with several modifications, all well-worth examining. All Fluorite crystals have an opalescent lustre, resulting from a combination of the pastel colours and micro-sucrosic frosted texture. It’s a great Fluorite with minor Chalcopyrite from the Flußschacht mine at Rottleberode, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The specimen is accompanied with two previous labels.
