An unusual twinned specimen of Cerussite from the renowned location for many classics, the Tsumeb Mine. This is a fine specimen of stellate twinned Cerussite depicting two phases of deposition. The first formation is in the habit of lustrous radiating chisel terminated crystals, with a translucent white colouration. The second phase of Cerussite formation shows lustrous translucent smoky crystals which have grown between the white Cerussite crystals, and almost completely envelope them. The smoky Cerussite has many interesting surface features, contrasting with the flat white crystals. An intriguing specimen of Cerussite from Tsumeb, the specimen displays well on its base.
