Well formed crystals of Cerussite on Galena from the classic Czech Republic location of Stribro. This type of Cerussite was described in the 1790s from the mines in the area. Eight individual Cerussite crystals, measuring to 2.4cm, form two lines on the display face of the specimen. The chunky crystals have well defined lustrous faces, with smoky to creamy translucent colours. The Cerussite has grown on characteristic intergrown partly creamy-brown Cerussite coated etched cubic crystals of Galena, measuring to 4cm on edge. A band of translucent white vein Quartz with a druse of pyramid terminations is the matrix for the Galena. Scattered crystals of brown Sphalerite are also in association. A classic Cerussite specimen from this old European mining area.
