A super specimen of Chalcocite from the St. Ives Consolidated Mines, Cornwall. Metallic dark grey lustrous platy crystals of Chalcocite measuring to 1.9cm are composed of a multitude of smaller crystals formed into intergrown rosettes on a matrix of Quartz with iridescent purple-maroon Bornite. A fine specimen from the mine and comes with a fine pedigree including Louis Stadtm├╝ller, Clarence S. Bement, and the American Museum of Natural History before passing to more contemporary dealer-collectors.
