A neat classic Chalcocite small cabinet specimen from one of Cornwall's most well known Tin/Copper mines, namely St.Ives Consols, last worked 100 years ago. The specimen we have from this mine depicts a number of intergrown blocky 'hexagonal' crystals measuring to 4mm tall, showing lots of parallel growth, and with hopper development to the terminations. Essentially the colour of the crystals is a shiny metallic grey, with a blueish bloom over tone. The crystals of Chalcocite have formed on a milky Quartz matrix, a fine specimen from the mine.
