Chalcosiderite

ID: CC126

A rich specimen of Chalcosiderite, with very lustrous dark green botryoidal growths filling cavities in a gossanous iron-rich matrix. The botryoids measure to 2mm in width and completely coat cavities through the matrix, the dark forest green nicely offset by the reddish matrix. Vugs on the back of the specimen have a fine black Goethite coating. Superb specimen of this species from its type location.
