A fine small cabinet example of Alexandrite from Zimbabwe. The Alexandrite forms a cluster of deep sea green crystals with minor silvery Mica inclusions, mostly opaque with some translucent green edges. The Alexandrite crystals have good lustre, and show well defined faces with sharp edges, and exhibit the classic cyclic twinning. There is a slight colour change to a more reddish tinge in different lighting, a characteristic of Alexandrite.
