A large crystal of Sapphire from the classic gem area of Sri Lanka. The crystal of Corundum variety Sapphire displays archetypal double terminations habit. The Sapphire crystal measuring to 4.7cm from termination to termination. The crystal is faintly striated on the pyramidal faces parallel to the 'a' axis of the crystal. The crystal shows near colourless terminations with the body of the crystal being a light purple/lilac, and veined by red-brown Fe-oxides. AN excellent large crystal from the area.
