Fine areas of the rare mineral Crednerite on Calcite from Merehead Quarry, Somerset, England. The Crednerite forms typical thin metallic coal black platelets crisscrossing over a Calcite crystal matrix. Minor amounts of green Malachite are in association, with the always present grey-black Mn oxides. A rich example of Crednerite from the Tony House collection from the 1970s.
