Cuprian Smithsonite

ID: CC2368

Brilliant turquoise blue crystals of Cuprian Smithsonite from the Tsumeb Mine. This mine is a very well known location for producing a wide variety of colourful Smithsonite specimens. The copper rich Smithsonite forms an intergrown group of sharp lustrous translucent to transparent rhombic crystals to 0.7cm on edge. They are hosted on a matrix of mixed Dolomite with brownish Fe-oxides. A lush specimen of turquoise colored Smithsonite from Tsumeb.
