A fine euhdral crystal of Cuprite from the classic Kolwezi mining area DR of Congo, the specimen we have to offer comes from the Dikuluwe Mine. An octahedral crystal measuring to 1.4cm sits centre stage in a cavity in the matrix. The sharp single crystal of Cuprite displays lustrous faces with a deep maroon colour. A matrix of light blue Chrysocolla inter-mixed with light grey slate rock surrounds the Cuprite bearing cavity. Here and there are scattered areas of deep green Malachite, and rare crystals of gemmy yellow Baryte to 2-3mm.  A very well formed octahedral Cuprite crystal from the mine.
