Cuprite

ID: CC7128

An excellent crystal specimen of well-formed Cuprite crystals on Goethite covering a Quartz veinstone from Wheal Phoenix, Linkinhorn, Cornwall. Deep maroon lustrous cuboctahedral crystals of Cuprite measuring to a good 9mm are clustered and scattered over the black-brown Goethite. A fine crystal Cuprite specimen dating to before 1875, and comes with an old handwritten label believed to be in Elizabeth Wright handwriting (daughter of Brice M. Wright).
