Cuprite Var Chalcotrichite

ID: CC1068

A great specimen of Chalcotrichite from one of the few mines to have produced this variety of Cuprite. The Chalcotrichite forms nests of intergrown hair-like acicular crystals richly investing lots of cavities in a Quartz-Gossan matrix. The Chalcotrichite has the typical bright red lustrous colour. A fine specimen from the Fowey Consols Mine.
