A standout plush red specimen of the Cuprite crystal variety Chalcotrichite from the renowned Tsumeb Mine. The Chalcotrichite fills a 1.4cm by 1.2cm cavity in a Dolomite matrix. It forms an intergrown aggregate of crisscrossing hair-like crystals, absolutely brilliant under magnification. Two smaller Chalcotrichite filled cavities can also be seen on the specimen. These specimens are one of the classic Cuprite varieties for which the mine has become justly famous.
