A fine early 19th century specimen of Cuprite with Native Copper from the Wheal Druid section of the Carn Brea Mine, Illogan. Wheal Druid is a very old mine amalgamated in 1832, with two other mines to become Carn Brea Mine. The specimen we have is a somewhat botryoidal display of crystallized Cuprite. The Cuprite having over grown a vein and rods-like extensions of Native Copper. A pleasing lustrous maroon red colour is seen to the Cuprite.
