A very rich Cuprite crystal specimen from the collector's paradise of the Tsumeb Mine. The specimen displays to advantage its Cuprite laden face, with associated Smithsonite. The Cuprite forms a sparkling druse of rich maroon coloured crystals to 0.3cm, many with a slight iridescence. A number of Smithsonite crystal clusters are pleasingly scattered over the Cuprite, giving fine contrast of colour and lustre to the specimen. The pearly Smithsonite groups are essentially translucent white, but appear an attractive pale green due to underlying Malachite. The matrix is mix of red Iron oxides with some original Sulphides veined by Cuprite, Dolomite and Malachite. A fine specimen of Cuprite from the location.
