A sparkling lustrous specimen of Diotase from the Tsumeb Mine, Namibia. The mine is particularly noted for producing lovely bright Dioptase specimens. The Dioptase crystals, measuring to 1cm, are delightfully aggregated and clustered over a druse of intergrown rhombs of Calcite. The Dioptase has the characteristic rich green colouration with flashes of neon green, contrasting well with the translucent white Calcite matrix. The Calcite is interbedded with a reddish Fe-oxide forming a shallow dish-like specimen. Very attractive display.
