Three lustrous side by side crystals of tri-coloured Elbaite from the Stak Nala area of Pakistan. The Elbaite crystals are partly intergrown and exhibit prismatic habit. The main crystal measures to 4cm high. The crystals of Elbaite are zoned tri coloured, starting with a deep green core followed by a light green gemmy zone. The Elbaite is then terminated by a colourless cap, which can be seen to advantage when held up to the light. A small sibling crystal is seen to have grown at an angle from the main crystal. Platy white crystals of Albite are associated. Interestingly these Elbaite are found in Miarolitic granite pegmatites, rather than the standard vein pegmatite. An attractive display with bright lustre and wonderful colour.
