A bit of a rarity this Fluorite specimen - the Doolin Mine deposit was last worked in the 1940's, but was found to be uneconomic. The Fluorite specimen we have is a single crystal showing stepped growth edges to 3cm and a deep purple colour, displaying a satiny luster. An old label states it was collected in July 1939, A. Russell, probably when the deposit was being investigated. An rare and unusual location!
