A rare example of Fluorite from a world famous old copper mine, Wheal Gorland. Very few people know that the mine also produced Fluorspar for smelting in the early workings of the mine. The Fluorite specimen we have to offer from Wheal Gorland is a single crystal 3.2cm on edge. The crystal displays modified edges and some stepped growth development. The colour of most of the crystal is a gemmy very light blue, with some dark purple zones, and some frosted areas typical for this mine. Part of another crystal is attached to one side of the main crystal.
