An old time specimen fro the Old End Mine, Crich, Derbyshire working the Great Rake and Shackey Veins (probably at work before 1745). The specimen we have from the mine comes with a handwritten label possibly dating from the early-mid 20th century. A deep purple colour zone is seen on inter-grown crystals of Fluorite measuring to 2.8cm on edge. Amber coloured Fluorite has formed before the purple zone, on a matrix of inter grown platy radial pink-white Baryte with purple Fluorite. An uncommon specimen from the mine.
