A fine old time specimen of Fluorite from the Carn Brea Mine, Illogan. Crystals of Fluorite measuring to 3.7cm are intergrown and scattered over a Siderite matrix with Hematite and Chalcopyrite. The gemmy to translucent Fluorite varying in colour from yellow to light sea green and colourless, with touches of purple to the crystal edges. Crystals of black platy-tabular metallic Hematite abundantly invest a biscuit coloured siderite composed of well developed intergrown lenticular crystals. Sparsely scattered sphenoidal crystals of Chalcopyrite have also formed on the Siderite. A classic specimen from this old Cornish Copper-Tin mine.
