The most recent find of Jug Vein Fluorite was made some 10-15 years ago. The very arduous under ground trip to the vein, has only been undertaken by the most adventurous collectors. The specimen we have from the Phil Youd Collection, shows lustrous gemmy to translucent light yellow Fluorite crystals, measuring to 2.1cm. Crystals of Fluorite display preferential deposition of pinkish Ankerite and 'nail head' Calcite crystals. Light metallic grey cubo-octahedral Galena is seen to predate the Fluorite. A pleasing uncommon specimen from the Brownley Hill Mine.
