Fluorite with Etch Patterns

ID: CC6276

An unusual specimen of classic gemmy-translucent light amber cubic Fluorite with truncated edges from the Hilton Mine, Scordale, Cumbria. The Fluorite is twinned and displays pyramidal-triangular etch patterns very prominently on two crystal faces, and to a lesser extent on the other faces. Very few Fluorite specimens from the Hilton Mine display this intriguing etching.
