Two hexagonal inter-grown Fluoroapatite crystals of desirable purple colour, form an aesthetic display. The crystals measure to 1.9 x 1.3mm, with an excellent vitreous lustre that highlights the growth striations. The Apatites are on a matrix of Quartz flecked with Pyrite, the form of earlier Fluoroapatite crystals are discernible under coatings of Dolomite. Light brown crystals of Siderite are seen around the periphery of the specimen to 0.7cm. On the reverse of the specimen is a matrix of Mica and minor Arsenopyrite. Panasqueira is a famous mine that produced excellent specimens for decades, although these specimens were more commonly found in the now worked out upper levels of the mine.
