Sharply formed lustrous dodecahedral crystals of Hessonite are richly clustered and scattered over the green chloritic matrix of the specimen, from the classic location of Faiallo Pass, Italy. The Grossular Garnet crystals measure to an average of 2mm, with a translucent red-brown colouration. The reverse of the specimen is also mostly covered in Hessonite crystals as a druse. A smart specimen from the location.
