Pleasingly formed balls of Gypsum enclosing green Malachite sit on a tan Dolomite matrix. The Gypsum is crystalline and gemmy to translucent, in clusters of crystals evenly dotted over the Dolomite crystals. Light to dark green Malachite forms the cores seen through the gemmy Gypsum which give the specimen a gorgeous colour. The Malachite on this specimen has itself formed around crystals of Chalcopyrite now replaced by brown Goethite. From Bou Bekker, Morocco.
