Hopeite

ID: CC2381

A fabulous crystal specimen of the rare Zinc Phosphate mineral Hopeite. The Hopeite is seen as somewhat bladed crystals measuring to 1cm tall, forming an open cluster. The Hopeite crystals are very lustrous and a translucent creamy-white colour, with the larger crystals display colourless gemmy areas. The excellently formed Hopeite crystals have formed on a matrix of black Mn-oxides, yellowish Descloizite, and a snow white undefined mineral. The specimen comes from the famous Kabwe (Broken Hill Mine), Zambia.
