Kolbeckite

ID: CC4257

Kolbeckite is a rare Scandium Hydrated Phosphate. The specimen we have is particularly rich in spherulites of this species, from the Schlarbaum Quarry now abandoned. The spherulites of Kolbeckite measuring to 1-2mm are seen abundantly scattered over two display faces of the specimen, coloured from white to light green. On a brown-black ferruginous crusts over a trachyandesite rock. A rare rich specimen from the quarry.  Please note that the close up pictures were taken in daylight
