Linarite

ID: CC2214

A bright royal blue specimen of Linarite from this old lead mining area of Leadhills, Scotland, an area first known in the 13th century. The specimen we have displays a 2cm by 1.5cm area of intergrown bladed Linarite crystals, some of which show the characteristic Linarite termination. The Linarite is associated with prismatic colourless to tinted blue crystals of Cerussite, with areas of light blue green Caledonite and green Malachite. The underside of the specimen is composed of intergrown Cerussite crystals. A lovely display from this collectible area.
