Manganite

ID: CC2052

A classic specimen of Manganite from the famous Ilfeld area in Germany. A terrific specimen of Magnetite from the Academy of Philadelphia collection, probably donated to the museum pre 1900. The Manganite forms lustrous metallic black prismatic striated crystals measuring to 3cm tall. The Manganite forms a forest of varying orientated crystals with pinaciod terminations. An excellent old time specimen from the location.
