Mendipite

ID: CC1044

A stunningly rich example of laminar Mendipite from the classic location of Merehead Quarry, Somerset, England. The Mendipite forms a triangular specimen, and has a high satin luster on the display face, with a white to light pink colouration. The Mendipite is associated with white translucent Calcite, veined by black Mn oxides. A rich large area of Mendipite from Merehead Quarry collected in the 1970's by Tony House.
