A specimen absolutely loaded with crystals of Mimetite from a location renowned for specimen of Mimetite, the one and only Tsumeb Mine, Namibia. The Mimetite forms a highly intergrown aggregate of slender prismatic crystals measuring to 1.6cm in length occupies a central cavity. Many of the Mimetite crystals are double terminated, and almost of bow-tie habit. The Mimetite crystals are lustrous with a colour variation from yellow-orange to largely a pleasing yellow towards the terminations. The matrix for the Mimetite crystals is yellow to yellow green minerals and is minutely granular/cellular. The specimen displays well on a natural flat base.
