A fine micro specimen from the 1970's of Nasonite in Datolite from Merehead Quarry, Somerset, England. The Nasonite forms rich blue area to nearly 2mm wide, contrasting against the white Datolite, which both sit on a matrix of lustrous chocolate brown radial Goethite which sets off the Nasonite and Datolite. Nasonite is a rare Lead Calcium sorosilicate Chloride only found at very few locations around the world. (Sorosilicates belong to a class where two tetrahedra share an oxygen atom)
