Native Gold and Cassiterite

ID: CC5981

Lots of platelets of Native Gold with a light metallic yellow colour are abundantly associated with dark brown alluvial Cassiterite grains in a cardboard glass topped specimen box.
A penciled note on a white R.W.Barstow label states that the concentrate was sent to the Rosoroggan Works in 1970, and this was picked from that concentrate. Platelets of Native Gold measure to 1cm, a very rare specimen as most Native Gold when found in the concentrate was the prerogative of the tin works and smelter.
