A rich example of Olivenite from the Stowes section of the Wheal Phoenix, Cornwall. The Olivenite forms sharp sparkling dark green crystals to 2mm richly investing a thin covering of black Goethite on a typical Quartz/Goethite veinstone. Associated is minor Chalcocite. The Olivenite covers an area of 3.7 x 3cm. From a mine better known for its specimens of Chalcosiderite and Cuprite, this specimen comes with an old label.
