A fine play of colors from the Andamooka Opal Field some 600 kms north of Adelaide in the Australian Outback (temperatures can touch 50C). The Opal forms an elongate shell-like form on a matrix of light coloured Sandstone, and has the variety label of 'Painted Lady'. The colour play is beautiful from light lime green to lilac to pink through to sky blue. The base has been sawn.
